Farnley Farm Ride – terms and conditions
We want every one to enjoy the Farnley Ride. That’s why we ask all rider s to read our terms and conditions carefully. All riders hiring the Farnley Ride must agree to abide by our terms and conditions, and act responsibly. Thank you.
- Ride tracks are signed with a red arrow. For safety and biosecurity reasons, please follow these tracks carefully and respect the Countryside Code. Please close and secure gates behind you. No deviations from these routes are permitted.
- Bikes are not permitted on the ride circuit.
- Riders are asked to report any accidents, damage to any jumps or other property on the Ride as soon as possible. This helps us to maintain our high standards of health and safety and a well-maintained course.
- Although we have attempted to make the course as safe as possible, Farnley Ride cannot be held responsible for any damage or injury to riders, horses or their property. The jumps are of varied height, nature and levels of difficulty. The decision to jump is ultimately the responsibility of the rider; the rider alone has to decide upon their limits in performance and the ability of his/her horse/pony. We highly recommend that rider s inspect jumps and landing areas prior to attempting the jump to ensure that it is safe for you.
- Approved hard hats to the current British Equestrian Trade Association standard and suitable safety equipment must be worn when riding. When hiring Farnley Ride, riders must ride in at least pairs.
- Mobile phones must be carried for contact with the Ride Office or emergencies services if required.
- Riders aged 16 or under must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
- Farnley Ride staff and stewards have the right to ask all rider s for identification at any time.
- All riders must ride only to their ability and level of fitness.
- All horses are required to be of a level of fitness and ability to complete the course. Farnley Ride reserves the right to refuse access to the Ride to any horse with which they have any concern as to fitness, temperament or ability.
- Horse boxes and vehicles are parked at owners own risk.
- We do not refund any ride booking, riders will be offered an alternative date to attend. Rides cannot be moved to another year.
- Notice of cancellation by riders must be given more than 48-hours prior to the ride hire date or full payment will be required.
- Farnley Ride reserves the right to cancel the ride hire due to unforeseen circumstances, including poor weather and safety reasons.
Alternative dates will be offered. - The Farnley Ride reserves the right to ask riders to leave the premises if they do not abide by the agreed terms and conditions.
- All riders run the risk of having to wait for the next available time slot to access the ride circuit if they arrive after their allocated time. Please note at busy times other parties are likely to be on the course.
- It is compulsory that all dogs are kept on leads at all times, you will be asked to leave the course if the dog is not kept on a lead.
- It is compulsory all gates are kept closed at all times.
- Vaccinations must be within 12 months; you must carry a passport to travel a horse / pony.
- Do not attempt any XC fence that is beyond yours or your horse’s capability. Do not jump any fence on the course backwards, the red flag must be to your right hand, anyone caught jumping the fences the wrong way will be asked to leave immediately.
- We are a non-smoking premises, anyone caught smoking will be asked to leave immediately.
- Vehicles and contents are left at owners own risk.
- Anyone caught emptying/cleaning out their horsebox/trailer of their muck/shavings/hay/rubbish etc into the car park field will be charged a £50.00 fine.
- If you are going to be later that 30 minutes starting on the course on your horse/pony you will have to move your booking to an alternative date/time.
- Please respect other riders/horses on the course and ask to go past them and do so at a walk.
- All riders/owners/participants on or at the ride must have public liability insurance.
- Grazing livestock is on and near to the farm ride.
- Please be aware the ground surface is an uneven surface on the farm ride which goes across fields, grooved tracks, woodland. Riders will be crossing uneven terrain throughout the farm ride, please be aware of this and ride accordingly and safely to the conditions you see in front of you.
